Which Credit Card

Which credit card is best for your needs? Which credit card offers an initial period of 0% APR? Which are the best deals on balance transfers? Are there still any good cashback credit cards?

We can't make the decisions for you, although we will try to let you have as much information as we can, to enable you to arrive at an informed choice.

Choosing a credit card

You should think carefully about which aspects of credit card terms are most important to you. For example, if you always pay off your outstanding balance in full each month and will always continue to do so, there is little benefit to you in seeking out the card with the lowest interest rate on outstanding balances, as you will never be paying interest, and you won't have a balance to transfer.

What could be much more important to you in these circumstances is the level of cashback offered on purchases. This is where careful comparison of the deals available will really pay off in cash terms.

When considering cashback cards, is it really cash you are getting back? Some of them offer cash, but there are more offering points schemes, air miles, vouchers and other incentives. This doesn't necessarily mean you should avoid those not offering cash, but check to see what is on offer. If you use the goods or services the points etc can be used against, you could be better off taking the vouchers, as they can be worth more than the equivalent cash back.
